Farhan
happens to have that wonderfully rare quality in a Bangladeshi bassist--
he's had sex. In fact, he makes up the 20% of The Watson Brothers who
have, i.e. the only person. He talks about his great experience: "Hmmm,
I remember it just like it was yesterday. It was right before Class
8, and it happened twice. Hmmm." Inquisitive friends have asked,
"What exactly took place?" and Farhan replies "I don't
know exactly, but I had a great time. I have written a bass solo that
lasts exactly as long as that sublimely beautiful experience-- 45 seconds.
All I can tell you is that it actually happened, and I'm not lying.
Hmmm."
When he isn't off daydreaming about those wonderful times, Farhan improves his hands, and especially the speed of his fingers, by daydreaming about those wonderful times. Some people have accused him of having superpowers, but Farhan prefers to keep quiet about that. As he was once reported saying to Arafat: "I don't have any superpowers, I'm just a normal guy with a normal life. Unlike Shakib bhai, I don't look good in Spandex. However, you better be careful-- I happened, just happened, like a perfectly normal guy might happen to happen into a happenstance, to see the indecent proposition you made to that innocent girl last Friday night. I was standing on top of a high-rise building, and the single bolt of lightning illuminated my silhouette. Hmmm." Farhan likes to listen to Tool, although his favorite song is Hmmm Hmmm Hmmm Hmmm by the Crash Test Dummies. His favorite character is Humbert Humbert, and he drives a Humvee. For someone without superpowers, Farhan seems to care a lot about right and wrong. Since he avoids any and all kinds of wrong-doing, it's hard for him to play The Watson Brothers' greatest hit. Although Farhan seems to be fit and fine like the party of our band, he has a problem in his lower back, i.e. the spine, which makes him unable to bend-- even on issues where Imran and Arafat beg him to. This is as opposed to Imran, whose main back problem is that he has no spine. Although Farhan is the handsomest member of The Watson Brothers, the role he plays in the band is more like J'onn J'onzz, the Martian Manhunter, than anything else. This is because Farhan acts like an alien sometimes, and also because his favorite chocolate is a Mars bar. He is a cute baby instead of an unflinching vigilante when he has chocolate. Hmmm.
