bhai used to play guitars for Rockstrata, the greatest metal band in Bangladesh.
Now he plays for Elephant Road, which is an even greater band!
He'd been out of touch with
the younger musicians for the longest time, and suddenly surfaced in a
forum in late 2003. After debating about it for a week or so, we decided
to get in touch with him. This guy's so great (hint: Arafat made a fan
site for his new band) that if he'd asked us to eat shit
we wouldn't mind. (Well, we would, but we'd still be his fans.) But he
turned out to be the friendliest, nicest guy EVER! It's so amazing that
this guy, who we idolized from our teen years, actually takes the time
off to write to us. This is one of the greatest rewards we've gotten so
far.
This is from one of his emails,

i did get it. I am listening to it every day now. As far as music
goes, I still get really excited about new music that I like just
as I used to when I was younger. I have a circle of bangali friends
here who share deshi and bideshi music among each other. And when
I found 'rong', I gave it to all of them and they all loved it at
one listen.
The whole album is an album to be proud of. I still
don't know the 2nd half of the album like I do the first half, but
I'm working my way towards that.
I liked the new sound that has not been used properly
in bangla music like this. I know that it's not easy to get out
of metal and prog rock and come up with straight forward rock songs
like 'rong' etc. I myself am moving that way more and more these
days since I got into radiohead, jeff buckley, coldplay etc so much
lately.
You have done a wonderful job as the singer. The
vocals in this album is just magnificent. Not just well sung but
also awesome harmonies, great lines and thoughtful ideas with proper
production and mixing man! I hope you guys continue on with this
lineup and keep using newer ideas.
By the way, the song 'prem' is really good too.
I guess agontuk has some songs that has good production and playing
and all, but the songs aren't going to stay with me when i'm not
listening to it. Prem is one of those songs for me, that doesn't
sink in right away, but once it does, you'll remember it.
And yes, I don't know about the other members of
elephant road or rockstrata, but i myself have no problems with
you singing any of our songs. I'd be flattered as a matter of fact.
